As we age though, the body tends towards stiffness, which makes it harder to move, so we move less, and the less we move, the stiffer we become, perpetuating this cycle. In this workshop we'll explore healthy spinal movement. Through a focus on active, braced movement we’ll explore how to use and move the spine safely, we will regain the knowledge, tools and strength to get our spine stable, strong and resilient. The Paradox of Comfort:We often think of comfort as a process of letting go and releasing/relaxing from stress and tension. During this workshop we’ll expose why comfort is quite the opposite, and lay out strategies to gain greater comfort in our shoulder girdle, upper back and neck. We’ll discuss and learn the function of the shoulder girdle, and how to use it. Primarily, we’ll learn exercises and techniques to strengthen and create a healthy shoulder girdle over time, and as a result, achieve greater comfort in our bodies and lives.
